Diriyah EPrix
The Diriyah ePrix was a race of the single-seater, electrically powered Formula E championship, held in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. It was first held as part of the 2018–19 season and was the first Formula E race to be held in the Middle East. The second Diriyah ePrix was held on 22 and 23 November 2019. The final Diriyah ePrix was held on 26 and 27 January 2024. The final race was won by Nick Cassidy for Jaguar. The Saudi Arabian Formula E round will be moved to the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, becoming the Jeddah ePrix. History As a part of Saudi Arabia's long-term plan to hold international sports events, the General Sports Authority along with Saudi Arabian Motor Federation made a ten-year agreement to hold a Formula E ePrix in Saudi Arabia. Riyadh Street Circuit
The Riyadh Street Circuit was a street circuit located in the capital of Saudi Arabia, used for the Ad Diriyah ePrix of the FIA Formula E Championship. It held its first race on 15 December 2018, as the opening race of the 2018-19 FIA Formula E Championship. History In May 2018, ahead of the 2018 Berlin ePrix, it was announced that Formula E holdings had signed a deal with the Saudi Arabian government, for a race to be held in the outskirts of the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh, in the Ad Diriyah district for 10 years. The design was first unveiled on 25 September 2018 at the Governate of Diriyah, with the design calling for a long track. 2021–22 Formula E World Championship
The 2021–22 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship was the eighth season of the FIA Formula E championship, a motor racing championship for electrically powered vehicles recognised by motorsport's governing body, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), as the highest class of competition for electric open-wheel racing cars. Stoffel Vandoorne
Stoffel Jacques L. Vandoorne (; born 26 March 1992) is a Belgian racing driver, who competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship for Peugeot and in Formula E for Maserati. In formula racing, Vandoorne competed in Formula One from to , and won the 2021–22 Formula E World Championship with Mercedes. Born and raised in Kortrijk, West Flanders, Vandoorne began karting aged six. Despite struggling with a lack of funding, Vandoorne achieved success in national and international competition, progressing to junior formulae in 2010. 2022 Diriyah EPrix
The 2022 Diriyah ePrix was a pair of Formula E electric car races held at the Riyadh Street Circuit in the town of Diriyah, north-west of Riyadh, in Saudi Arabia on 28 and 29 January 2022. It was the opening round of the 2021–22 Formula E season and the fourth edition of the Diriyah ePrix, and was held at night for the second time. Novelties for the event included the introduction of a knockout-style qualifying format, which replaced the series' long-standing four-group and superpole qualifying. Mercedes-EQ is a series of battery electric vehicles manufactured by Mercedes-Benz. The first model was previewed at the Paris Motor Show in 2016 with the Generation EQ concept vehicle. Alexander George Oliver Sims (born 15 March 1988, in London) is a British people, British professional racing driver, currently competing in the IMSA SportsCar Championship for Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports.
