Cvelferija
Cvelferija is a geographic region the Croatian part of Syrmia, in eastern Croatia. Villages in the region are Vrbanja, Soljani, Strošinci, Drenovci, Đurići, Račinovci, Gunja, Rajevo Selo, Posavski Podgajci. The name for the region comes from the German word ''zwölf'' or twelve. Specifically, villages were part of the Slavonian Military Frontier in the past, where they were part of the Twelfth Company of the Frontier. At that time this region was bordering the Ottoman Empire, while in the present the region borders Bosnia-Herzegovina (to the south) and Serbia (to the east). The whole region is administratively located within the Vukovar-Srijem County, on its southern edge. Every year in one of these villages, the cultural event ' (in English: 'Singing Cvelferija') take place. The event is attended by folklore groups from Cvelferija and their guests. Soljani
Soljani ( sk, Soľany) are a village in Cvelferija in the southernmost part of Vukovar-Syrmia County. From the 2011 census the village had a population of 1241 inhabitants. Name The name of the village in Croatian is plural. History It was first mentioned in 1329 as ''“Sauly, Sali posessio”'', and since then the village name has been connected with the word ''“salt”'' (sol means salt in Croatian). During the Roman Empire the village was plotted on the history maps as ''“Saldis”'', and one of the main Roman roads that lead to Sirmium (Sremska Mitrovica) went via Saldis. The village's greatest development was during the 18th and the 19th century when the Slovaks from Vojvodina and Slovakia settled there. Rajevo Selo is a village in eastern Croatia located west of Drenovci, near the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. The population is 987 (census 2011). The village lies next to the Sava river and the state border with Bosnia and Herzegovina with the village of Gorice on the other bank of the river. Gunja, Croatia
Gunja ( hu, Gúnya, bs, Gunja) is a village and municipality in Croatia. In the 2011 census, the population was 3,732, with 60.13% declaring themselves Croats, 29.69% as Bosniaks, and 3.32% as Serbs. The village lies directly across the Sava river from the city of Brčko in Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the Bosnian War, many Muslim and Croat citizens of Brčko lived as refugees in Gunja. The village has a mosque, one of few in Croatia. The settlement was founded in the 18th century by settlers from eastern Bosnia. Gunja was heavily hit by the 2014 Southeast Europe floods, with estimated property damage in excess of €50 million. Vukovar-Srijem County ( hr, Vukovarsko-srijemska županija), Vukovar-Sirmium County or Vukovar-Syrmia County, named after the eponymous town of Vukovar and the region of Syrmia, is the easternmost Croatian county.
