Elemér Csák
Elemér Csák (20 May 1944 – 2 June 2025) was a Hungarian journalist, editor, foreign correspondent, and radio and television reporter. A winner of the Táncsics and Karinthy Prizes for journalism, he served as the spokesman of the Hungarian government from 15 February 1995 to 30 June 1995. Biography Csak was born in Košice, Hungary, on 20 May 1944. In 1967, he graduated from Moscow State University with a degree in history and archeology. Ibolya Csák
Ibolya Csák (6 January 1915 – 9 February 2006) was a Hungarian athlete. Career Csák was best known as the winner of the women's high jump at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. She won a gold medal in the European Championships in Athletics in 1938 in unusual circumstances. She was the first Hungarian woman to win a gold medal in both events. Her win in the 1936 Olympics was one of the tightest in the history of high jumping. Three athletes cleared 160 cm but none cleared 162. The three competitors were offered a fourth opportunity and Csák was the only one to clear the height. She was a Hungarian Jew; she was one of a number of Jewish athletes who won medals at the Olympics in Berlin in 1936. Csák won the gold medal in the 1938 European championships after the original winner, Germany's Dora Ratjen, turned out to be a man. István Csák
István Hircsák (Csák) (18 February 1915 – 31 December 1976) was a Hungarian ice hockey and field hockey player who competed in the 1936 Winter Olympics and 1936 Summer Olympics. In 1936, he was a member of the Hungarian ice hockey team that was eliminated in the second round of the Olympic tournament. Hircsák played as the goaltender in all six matches. He also participated in the 1936 Summer Games as a member of the Hungarian field hockey team, which was eliminated in the group stage of the Olympic tournament. Hircsák played as the goalkeeper in all three matches. Csák migrated to the United Kingdom in 1956.
