Cromer, Manitoba
Cromer, Manitoba is a village located in the Rural Municipality of Pipestone, in south-western Manitoba, Canada in a region called Westman. In 1884 the Post Office was opened at LSD 26-8-28W and was known as ''Elm Valley''. The name was changed to Cromer when the Canadian Northern Railway came through in 1907. The community is situated alongside Pipestone Creek in the Pipestone Valley. The valley was formed almost 20,000 years ago during the melting of the last glaciation. The melting waters formed the Pipestone Spillway, which is the valley seen today. The village sits at the intersections of roads 256 and 255 and consists of several businesses, residences, and churches. There is also an ice rink and a 9-hole golf course. Cromer United Church
Cromer ( ) is a coastal town and civil parish on the north coast of the English county of Norfolk. It is north of Norwich, north-northeast of London and east of Sheringham on the North Sea coastline. The local government authorities are North Norfolk District Council, whose headquarters is on Holt Road in the town, and Norfolk County Council, based in Norwich. Provincial Road 256 (PR 256) is a provincial road in the southwest corner of the Canadian province of Manitoba. At a length of , it is among the longer provincial roads in Manitoba. PR 256 begins as a gravel road at PTH 41 near McAuley and winds its way south, staying within 10 miles of the Saskatchewan border. After it crosses the Trans-Canada Highway at Elkhorn, PR 256 becomes a paved, two-lane highway and continues south to the Lyleton Port of Entry at the Antler–Lyleton Border Crossing on the Canada–United States border, located south of Pierson, in the extreme southwest corner of Manitoba. After crossing the international border, PR 256 becomes North Dakota Highway 256. The Laurentide Ice Sheet was a massive sheet of ice that covered millions of square miles, including most of Canada and a large portion of the Northern United States, multiple times during the Quaternary glacial epochs, from 2.58 million years ago to the present. Pipestone Creek (Saskatchewan)
Pipestone Creek is a river in the Souris River watershed. Its flow begins in south-eastern Saskatchewan, just south of the town of Grenfell and travels in a south-eastly direction into Manitoba in the Westman Region where it empties into Oak Lake through the Oak Lake Marsh. The Pipestone Creek is in a region called the Prairie Pothole Region of North America, which extends throughout three Canadian provinces and five U.S. states. It is also within Palliser's Triangle. The topographical basin of Pipestone Creek's watershed ranges from 804 to 426 metres above sea level (asl), with a mean elevation of 650 asl. Most of the waters that flow into the Pipestone Creek depend upon rains and melting snow. There are no large natural lakes in its watershed.
