Ante Starčević ( ; 23 May 1823 – 28 February 1896) was a Croatian politician and writer. His policies centered around Croatian state law, the integrity of Croatian lands, and the right of Croats, his people to self-determination. As an important member of the Croatian parliament and the founder of the Party of Rights (1861–1929), Party of Rights he has laid the foundations for Croatian nationalism. Franjo Tuđman (14 May 1922 – 10 December 1999) was a Croatian politician and historian who became the first president of Croatia, from 1990 until his death in 1999. He served following the Independence of Croatia, country's independence from Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Yugoslavia. Tuđman also was the ninth and last president of the Presidency of SR Croatia from May to July 1990. Tuđman was born in Veliko Trgovišće. The Croatian Democratic Union (, , HDZ) is a major conservative, centre-right political party in Croatia. Since 2016, it has been the ruling political party in Croatia under the incumbent Prime Minister Andrej Plenković. 1990 Croatian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in the Socialist Republic of Croatia between 22 and 23 April 1990; the second round of voting occurred on 6–7 May. Croatian Pure Party of Rights ( or HČSP) is a far-right political party in Croatia founded in 1992. The party claims to be an ideological descendant of the identically named right-wing Serbophobic historical party which was active in the early 20th century and which advocated the right to self-determination for Croatia at the time when it was part of Austria-Hungary and Kingdom of Yugoslavia.
