Cristian Albu
Alexandru Cristian Albu (; born 17 August 1993) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder or a defender for Liga I club Botoșani. Albu started out his professional career at Concordia Chiajna in 2015, where he spent several seasons playing in the Liga I before relegating to the second division. Following loans to Academica Clinceni, UTA Arad, and Rapid București, respectively, he signed a permanent contract with the latter in 2021. Internationally, Albu made his senior debut for Romania in October 2021, in a 1–2 away FIFA World Cup qualifier loss to Germany. Early life Albu was born in Bucharest and is of Romani ethnicity. He grew up supporting Steaua București. Club career Concordia Chiajna Albu made his professional debut for Concordia Chiajna on 1 May 2015, coming on as an 89th-minute substitute for Hristijan Dragarski in a 1–0 home Liga I win over Pandurii Târgu Jiu. Club Sportiv LPS HD Clinceni, commonly known as Clinceni and formerly as ''Academica Clinceni'', is a Romanian Association football, football Club (organization), club based in Clinceni, Ilfov County, currently playing in the Liga IV - Ilfov County. In the summer of 2022 former ''Academica Clinceni'' went bankrupt, but the club was refounded as LPS HD (Liceul cu Program Sportiv Helmuth Duckadam) Clinceni. Academica Clinceni was founded in Buftea in 2005, following a merger between two clubs, and enrolled directly in the Liga III, third division. It promoted to the Liga II at the end of the 2007–08 Liga III, 2007–08 season, but participated in the competition for only one year after it sold its place and returned to the third tier.
