Alice Guerin Crist
Alice Guerin Crist (1876–1941) was an Australian poet, author and journalist. Early life Crist was born in Clare Castle, Ireland on 6 February 1876 to Patrick and Winifred (née Rohan or Rouhan) Guerin. When she was two years old, the family migrated to Queensland, where her father taught in rural schools, including as head teacher of Tent Hill Upper school in May 1880. Career Crist's writing career began before she reached her teens. Her first short story was published in Brisbane newspaper, ''The Queenslander'', in December 1887, two months before her 12th birthday. She wrote "Elsie In Fairyland" 12 months later for the "Christmas Supplement" of ''The Queenslander'', published on 22 December 1888. In November the following year, she wrote "The Three Sisters", which was serialised across two issues of the same paper. Carole Lynn Crist (née Oumano, formerly Rome) is an American businesswoman and former First Lady of Florida. Crist is the ex-wife of former U.S. Representative and one-term Florida Governor Charlie Crist, having served as First Lady of Florida from December 12, 2008, to January 4, 2011. Personal life Crist was born and raised in Roslyn, New York, a New York City suburb on Long Island. She is the daughter of Margaret and Robert Oumano. Charles Thomas Crist (January 16, 1951 – October 28, 2020) was an American professional football safety in the National Football League for the New York Giants, New Orleans Saints, and the San Francisco 49ers. Unusually for an NFL player, Crist never played college football. A star quarterback and defensive back in high school football and a standout on the basketball court as well in Salamanca, New York (Crist ranks second overall in Salamanca High School basketball scoring with 1,004 points, behind only Jack O'Rourke), Crist received an athletic scholarship to Penn State University. Henry Crist (October 20, 1764 – August 11, 1844) was a United States representative from Kentucky. He was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He moved with his father to Pennsylvania, where he attended the public schools. Later, moved to Kentucky and engaged in the surveying of lands. As early as 1779–80, Crist began coming down the Ohio River from Pennsylvania to as far as the Falls of the Ohio, at present day Louisville. In 1788, he moved to Bullitt County, Kentucky and engaged in the manufacture of salt. Crist was a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives in 1795 and 1806. He also served in the Kentucky Senate 1800–1804. He was elected as a Democratic-Republican to the 11th United States Congress, Eleventh Congress (March 4, 1809 – March 3, 1811) and was later a Whig after the organization of that party.
