Entombed (band)
Entombed is a Swedish death metal band formed in 1987 under the name of Nihilist. Entombed began their career as an early pioneer of Scandinavian death metal which initially differed from its American counterpart by its distinct "buzzsaw" guitar tone. However, by the early 1990s their sound had broadened to include garage rock and other influences. This new style would eventually be described as death 'n' roll. Along with Dismember, Grave and Unleashed, Entombed has been referred to as one of the "big four" of Swedish death metal. Earache Records
Earache Records is a British independent record label, music publisher and management company founded by Digby Pearson in 1985, based in Nottingham, England, with offices in London and New York. The label helped to pioneer extreme metal by releasing early grindcore and death metal records between the late 1980s and mid-1990s. Its roster has since diversified into more mainstream guitar music, working with bands such as Rival Sons, the Temperance Movement, Blackberry Smoke, Scarlet Rebels and the White Buffalo. ''Clandestine'' is the second studio album by Swedish death metal band Entombed, released on 12 November 1991 in Europe and on 11 February 1992 in North America. Along with Entombed's preceding album, ''Clandestine'' helped establish a distinctively Swedish sound in the death metal genre. This is the only Entombed album on which original vocalist L.G. Petrov does not appear. Petrov was fired from the band prior to the production of ''Clandestine'' due to personal disputes. Orvar Säfström
Orvar Säfström (born 18 February 1974) is a Swedish musician and writer, and former film reviewer and video game journalist. He hosted '' Filmkrönikan'' on the Swedish television network SVT from 2003 to 2006. Before that, Säfström was employed at ZTV, where he hosted two other film review shows called ''Bio'' and ''Recensenten.'' Starting in 2006, Säfström shifted his focus more towards video games, writing and lecturing on games. Among other things he talked in the Riksdag at a seminar on gaming and received the Sverok "Gamer of the year" award for outstanding work in promoting game culture. Nirvana 2002
Nirvana 2002 was a Swedish death metal band active between 1988 and 1991. The band was originally called Prophet 2002, but decided to change its name to Nirvana. However, it had to add the "2002" after seeing an advertisement for Nirvana's debut single, " Love Buzz/Big Cheese", released in November 1988. Nirvana 2002 was notable for being part of the first-wave of the Swedish death metal movement, and according to ''Swedish Death Metal'' author Daniel Ekeroth, "one of the purest examples of that typical fat Swedish death metal, with crushing guitars and straightforward song structures, even if they don't make tributes to the songs written by Strangedz guitarist Marco Galligani."
