Crawford Productions is an Australian Media (communication), media production company, focused on radio and television production. Founded in Melbourne by Hector Crawford and his sister, actress and voice artist Dorothy Crawford, the company, also known as Crawfords Australia, is now a subsidiary of the WIN Corporation. Founding and early years Founded exclusively as a radio production company in 1945, Crawford Productions then specialized in drama, light entertainment, and educational programs. When television in Australia, broadcast television was introduced to Australia in 1956, Crawford Productions was one of the few Australian radio production houses to successfully transition to the new medium. Video Village
''Video Village'' is an American television game show produced by Heatter-Quigley Productions, which aired on the CBS network in daytime from July 11, 1960, to June 15, 1962, and in primetime from July 1 to September 16, 1960. It was notable for the use of its unique "living board game" concept and for premiering soon after the quiz show scandals. Personnel Jack Narz served as the host (introduced on-air as "the Mayor") from the show's premiere until September 9, 1960, after which he departed for personal reasons. Red Rowe filled in as Mayor for the week of September 16 (including the final nighttime episode); the following Monday, Monty Hall replaced Narz and hosted through the remainder of the show's run. Terence Donovan (born 28 October 1942), also billed as Terence J. Donovan and Terry Donovan, is a British-Australian actor of stage, television and film, and the father of actor and singer Jason Donovan (from his marriage to actress and journalist Sue McIntosh). Charles Stephen Faulkner (21 October 19224 December 2000), professionally Chuck Faulkner, was a Northern Irish–born Australian actor and US radio talk show host. The Gold Logie Award for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television, commonly referred to simply as the Gold Logie, is an award presented annually at the Australian Logie Awards. The Gold Logie was first awarded at the 2nd Annual TV Week Logie Awards, held in 1960 when the award was originally called Most Popular Personality on Australian Television. It was briefly renamed ''Best Personality on Australian Television'' in 2016-2017. For the 2018 ceremony, the award category name was reverted to Most Popular Personality on Australian Television. ''Division 4'' is an Australian television police drama series broadcast by the Nine Network and created by Crawford Productions airing between 1969 and 1975 for 301 episodes. Synopsis The series was one of the first to follow up on the enormous success of the earlier Crawford Productions drama ''Homicide'' and dealt with the wide variety of cases investigated by police in the fictional Melbourne suburb of Yarra Central (modelled on St Kilda but with many features in common with Port Melbourne and South Melbourne). Gerard Kennedy (8 March 1932 – 21 April 2025) was an Australian double Gold Logie award-winning actor. Kennedy started his career in theatre, before going on to appear in early television series, primarily with Crawford Productions, with several roles in series ''Homicide'' and starring in the espionage series including ''Hunter'' as Kragg.
