Craven Park, Barrow-in-Furness
Craven Park (also referred to as the Northern Competitions Stadium for sponsorship reasons) is a rugby league stadium in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, England. It is the home of Barrow Raiders rugby league team. Rugby league Craven Park was built in 1931, largely as a result of the efforts of supporters of Barrow RLFC, 500 of whom volunteered to construct the ground. The total cost of the building project came to £7,500; which was a substantial sum in those days. The stadium was named after Commander G. W. Craven, a local war hero, who had started the appeal fund with a donation of £500. It should not be confused with Craven Park, or Old Craven Park in Hull, other rugby league venues. Duke Street is a road running through the town centre and Hindpool area of Barrow-in-Furness, England. The Australian national rugby league team, the Kangaroos, have represented Australia in senior men's rugby league football competitions since the establishment of the game in Australia in 1908. United States National Rugby League Team
The United States national rugby league team represents the United States in international rugby league competitions. The team is managed by the USA Rugby League (USARL). The United States competed with little success in some international games during the 1950s, but did not return to consistent competition until 1987. The 2000 Rugby League World Cup was the twelfth Rugby League World Cup, World Cup for men’s national rugby league teams, held between 28 October and 25 November and hosted between the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Ireland and France.
