County Road 259 (Jefferson County, Florida)
History In the mid-1970s, the Florida Department of Transportation (formerly the State Road Department) started a sequence of events that eventually resulted in the transferral of hundred of miles of roadway from State of Florida maintenance to county control. The first step was the addition of an "S-" or "C-" prefix onto the original FDOT designation ("S" represented "secondary"; "C" represented "county"). In 1977, House Bill 803, Chapter 77-165 in the ''Laws of Florida'', was passed in the Florida Legislature. This transportation policy act eliminated the State Highway Secondary System which consisted of county roads that were maintained by the state. The provisions went into effect on July 1, 1977. State Road signs started disappearing from the "C" roads and were replaced by ''Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices'' (MUTCD) compliant county road signs in the early 1980s; the transition of "S" roads to county control took a bit longer. Florida State Road 15A
State Road 15A (SR 15A) is part of the Florida State Road System, and a suffixed alternate of State Road 15. Along with its parent route, SR 15A is signed north–south. Route description SR 15A begins at the intersection of US 17/92 ( SR 15/600; South Woodland Boulevard) as a western continuation of East Taylor Road, which from there runs east to CR 4101. It forms a western truck bypass for the aforementioned routes around DeLand, and begins to curve to the northwest just before the intersection with South Adelle Avenue while West Taylor Road resumes in a realigned road just south of the intersection with SR 15A and South Adelle, which returns to the original trajectory that SR 15A replaced. North of the intersection with West Beresford Avenue it becomes part of South Spring Garden Boulevard. County Road 33A (Polk County, Florida)
State Road 33 (SR 33) is a state highway running through Lake and Polk counties in the U.S. state of Florida. Route description State Road 33 begins in Lakeland off U.S. Route 92 (US 92) east of the intersection with US 98 and heads north along the vicinity of the west bank of Lake Parker. North of there it curves to the northeast and has one of two interchanges with Interstate 4 (I-4). The first interchange (Exit 33) provides westbound access via North Socrum Loop Road ( CR 582), and eastbound access directly to SR 33. The route turns more to the east away from I-4, until it curves north at the northern terminus of Florida State Road 659. Florida State Road A19A
State Road A19A (SR A19A) was a highway loop in the southern portion of Pinellas County, Florida. The southern terminus was at an intersection with 54th Avenue South, 34th Street South (US 19 / SR 55) and Interstate 275/ SR 93 in St. Petersburg, just north of the Sunshine Skyway. The northern terminus was an intersection with US 19 in Largo. Route description From St. Petersburg to St. Pete Beach, A19A comprised the entirety of SR 682 as part of the Pinellas Bayway toll road. Within St. Pete Beach, A19A followed the portion of SR 699 from the Bayway to 75th Street. Fort Drum, Florida
Fort Drum was a town in Okeechobee County, Florida, United States, located on US 441, between Yeehaw Junction and Okeechobee. A service plaza on Florida's Turnpike is named after the town. The Fort Drum Wildlife Management Area consists of nearly 21,000 acres in southwestern Indian River County and is named for its proximity to the town and is known as the birthplace of the St. John's River. Fort Drum is the only known locale for crystal bearing fossil shells. There is a cemetery in the middle of the town on almost eight acres, in which many of the first settlers of Fort Drum were buried and still remain. Upthegrove Beach is an unincorporated community in Okeechobee County, Florida, United States. It is located on US 441/US 98, on the northeastern shore of Lake Okeechobee. History Upthegrove Beach was named for the Upthegrove (originally Op Den Graeff) family, including Union Army Captain William Hendry Upthegrove and others. Robert Upthegrove, later one of the inaugural Okeechobee County commissioners, settled in the area ''circa'' 1912. His son, Clarence Dewitt Upthegrove (Dewitt), at one time worked for Thomas Edison in Fort Myers, and later owned a heavy equipment operation that helped build the Herbert Hoover Dike around Lake Okeechobee and was the Supervisor of Elections for Palm Beach County. State Road 710 (SR 710) is a northwest-southeast route connecting SR 70 near Okeechobee, three miles (5 km) from the northern tip of Lake Okeechobee in south central Florida, to Old Dixie Highway ( CR 811) in Riviera Beach. Most of the route is also known as Bee-Line Highway and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, as it parallels the railroad tracks maintained by CSX Transportation (their Auburndale Subdivision) and used by Amtrak; and doesn't have a turn or curve in the southeast of Sherman, except for a small bend northwest of North Palm Beach County General Aviation Airport. Florida State Road 700
State Road 700 (SR 700) is the mostly unsigned Florida Department of Transportation state road designation of U.S. Route 98 (US 98) between Chassahowitzka (where US 98 continues northward as unsigned SR 55) and Twentymile Bend (where US 98 continues eastward as signed SR 80). The only segments of State Road 700 that are signed are between SR 50A and US 41 in Brooksville, and from Okeechobee south, through Canal Point, to SR 80. From the northernmost signed point, it's an unsigned concurrency with SR 45(US 41), then with SR 50, before rejoining US 98 at the west end of the US 98/SR 50 concurrency. The section between Canal Point to SR 80 is signed only as State Road 700 since the relocating of US 98 to run concurrent with US 441 in Palm Beach County. State Road 15 (SR 15) is part of the Florida State Road System. This route is part of a multi two-state route 15 that begins at Florida and ends at Georgia at the North Carolina state line. Route description SR 15 runs from SR 80/ SR 880 at Belle Glade north along the east shore of Lake Okeechobee to Okeechobee. Then it runs north to SR 500 ( US 192) at Holopaw, and northwest along SR 500 to Ashton (east of St. Cloud), where it ends. County Road 15 in Osceola County and Orange County connects to the beginning of the next section, at SR 528 (the Bee Line Expressway) east of Orlando International Airport.
