Corryong is a town in Victoria (Australia), Victoria, Australia, east of Albury-Wodonga, near the upper reaches of the Murray River and close to the New South Wales border. At the , Corryong had a population of 1,348. The post office opened on 1 February 1874. The town also has its own Corryong Airport, airport. Corryong hosts ''The Man from Snowy River Bush Festival'', held annually in April. Education Corryong is supported by a variety of service clubs, a hospital and schools. It has a Catholic primary and Corryong College P-12 school. The college has approximately 300(2019) students. Corryong is also home to the Australian Institute of Flexible Learning (AIFL) which offers 100% online education to all of Australia. Upper Murray Football League
The Upper Murray Football Netball League (UMFNL) is an Australian rules football and netball competition based in the rural Victoria (Australia), Victorian town of Corryong, Victoria, Corryong. The UMFNL contains four clubs from around the townships and farming districts of the greater Shire of Upper Murray, Upper Murray area, including two of the three founding clubs from 1893. The UMFNL features three grades in the Australian rules football competition, with these being Senior-Grade, Under 14's, with Under 10's as Auskick. In the netball competition, there are six grades, with these being A-Grade, B-Grade, C-Grade, D-Grade, Under 15's, with Under 11's as Netta (other), Netta. Results from Auskick & Netta are normally not recorded and final series are normally not played, instead, emphasis is put on having fun while playing sport and improving their skills. Corryong Courier
The ''Corryong Courier'' is a newspaper published in Corryong, Victoria, Australia. History The paper was first published on 25 January 1894. H.H Parnaby & A. Albert were the original owners, followed by Peter Seaton and then T.E Jeans & W.G Jeans. In 1937 William McClure took over and in 1951, his son Col took over before handing it over to his daughter Cyndie and husband Mark Collins in 1993. From 2012, Jade Moscrop and Liam Collins purchased the business and continue to publish the newspaper each week. Between 1946 and 1960 the ''Corryong Courier'' was renamed the ''Corryong courier and Walwa district news''. At the end of 1992, it was the only newspaper in Victoria still using the "hot metal" and flat-bed press method of production, this changed in 1993 when the new owners brought in computers to maintain a similar format but using modern methods. Greg Greg is a rural locality in the Snowy Valleys Council local government area of New South Wales, Australia. The locality lies on the route between Tumbarumba and Corryong. The western boundary of the locality is the Murray River (N.S.W. - Victoria border). Greg Greg lies close to where the Murray's course changes direction from generally south-to-north to generally east-to-west. Its northern boundary is the left bank of the Tooma River, and its eastern boundary is with Kosciuszko National Park. To its south lies the rural locality of Bringenbrong. Shelley, Victoria
Shelley is a former town on the Cudgewa railway line in Northeast Victoria. It was home to the highest railway station in Victoria, at above sea level. The Shelley Railway Station was opened in 1916 and closed in 1979. The railway was used early in its life to transport farmer's livestock from the Upper Murray to Wodonga. From the 1950s the railway was used heavily to transport equipment and machinery from Wodonga to the Upper Murray to help build the Snowy Mountains Hydro Electric Scheme. The Snowy Hydro Scheme was completed in 1974 and after several years of low level use, the railway was closed.
