The Corinth School District is a public school district based in Corinth, Mississippi, United States. The district includes Corinth High School. Easom High School served black students in the area during segregation. Schools *Corinth High School (grades 9-12) *Corinth Junior High School (Grades 7-8) *South Corinth Elementary School (grades 5-6) *East Corinth Elementary School (grades 2-4) *West Corinth Elementary School (grades K-1) The two-story brick high school was built in 1938 and 1939 according to an Art Moderne design by Stevens & Johnston. Its football team was established in 1913 and won a state playoff championship in 2019. The school has a homecoming parade through downtown Corinth with floats. Another tradition is the beauty revue. Schools in the area were segregated. Black students attended Easom High School, which later became South Corinth High School. After desegregation, white faculty increased and black faculty decreased. Larry Darnnell Dorsey (born August 15, 1953) is an American former American football, football player and coach. He played professionally as a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). Dorsey played college football for the Tennessee State Tigers football, Tennessee State Tigers before playing in the NFL with the San Diego Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs. Dorsey served as the head football coach at Mississippi Valley State University from 1990 to 1998 and at Prairie View A&M University from 2000 to 2002, compiling a career college football coaching record of 42–81–3. Carver Shannon
Carver Beauregard Shannon (born April 28, 1938) is a former American and Canadian football player who played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He won the Grey Cup with Winnipeg in 1959 and 1961. He played college football in Carbondale, Illinois with Southern Illinois University where he was nominated for the 1958 All-American team. Shannon was also drafted into the National Football League (NFL) in the 1959 NFL draft by the Los Angeles Rams (Round 19, #224 overall). He played for the Rams from 1962 to 1964, following his career in Canadian football. After his time with the Rams he went to play for the Chicago Bears where he sustained a knee injury and retired from professional football.
