Corday Productions is an American production company. The company was founded by Ted and Betty Corday in 1965. The company produces the NBC soap opera ''Days of Our Lives'' which they have produced since 1965. They are based in Burbank, California. The company is currently run by Ted and Betty Corday's son Ken Corday. History Producer Ted Corday and his wife Betty were collaborating with William J. Bell to create a new soap opera. The concept of the soap would be centered around a family of doctors. The soap, named ''Days of Our Lives'' premiered on November 8, 1965. With the premiere of the soap also came the formation of Corday Productions. Initially, the series was just intended for the production of ''Days''. But the company did several different productions. Ted Corday
Theodore "Ted" Corday (May 8, 1908 – July 23, 1966) was a Canadian-American producer, director and co-creator of soap opera for NBC, most notably the hit series ''Days of Our Lives''. Biography Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Corday graduated from the University of Alberta in 1930 and studied law before moving to the United States in 1934. He served as a Captain in the United States Army. He worked in Broadway for many years before producing dramas for radio, such as '' Tortilla Flat'', '' Tobacco Road'', '' Gangbusters'' and '' Counterspy''. He then moved to television in the 1950s, producing ''Guiding Light'' for a time as well as directing ''As the World Turns'', from its 1956 premiere until 1965. Betty Corday
Betty Corday (born Elizabeth Shay; March 21, 1912 – November 17, 1987) was a Broadway dramatic actress and long-time American television producer. She co-created and executive produced the long running NBC drama ''Days of Our Lives'' from 1966 until her death in 1987. Biography Stage Corday had previously been a Broadway stage actress, starring in "one flop after another" before marrying her husband, a Winnipeg-born lawyer. They were married from 1942 until his death in 1966. They had two sons, Chris and Ken. Radio Corday produced such radio soaps as '' Pepper Young's Family'' and '' Young Dr. Malone''. Television Becoming executive producer after the death of her husband, Ted Corday (credited as Mrs. Ted Corday), she was the executive producer of ''Days of Our Lives'' from 1966 to 1985. Kenneth Robert Corday (born June 16, 1950) is an American television soap opera producer and music composer. He is the son of Ted Corday and Betty Corday, the co-creators of ''Days of Our Lives''.
