Copa Uruguay (Perú)
The Copa Uruguay Presidente Brum also called the Copa Uruguay or Copa Brum, it was an official Peruvian football (soccer), football cup created and then organized by the Peruvian Football Federation and donated by the government of Uruguay. Background At the initiative of the Peruvian Football Federation, a tournament was organized between the clubs and leagues of Lima and Callao in 1928. The format and dates were programmed by the FPF, in addition to establishing the Lima stadiums, Estadio Nacional (1897), Estadio Nacional, Circolo Sportivo Italiano and the Stadium Modelo de Bellavista (Estadio Telmo Carbajo). Champions 1928 Copa Uruguay Hidroaviación, representative of the Armada Nacional was the champion by defeating Circolo Sportivo Italiano, representative of the Liga de Balnearios del Sur. Hidroaviación
Hidroaviación was a Peruvian football club that was located in the city of Ancón, Lima. The club was founded with the name of club Hidroaviación and played in Primera Division Peruana from 1929 until 1931. The club was third place of the national tournament in 1929. In 1931, Hidroaviación was relegated and it was their last appearance in the Primera Division Peruana since. The Copa Uruguay (officially Copa AUF Uruguay) is a knockout football competition in men's domestic Uruguayan football, starting in 2022. The competition starts in June, with the winner of the cup qualifying for the following year's Supercopa Uruguaya, starting from the 2025 edition. History Historically, Uruguayan football never had a national cup tournament, aside from a competition called ''Torneo de Copa'', which happened only in 1969. In 2018, teams started to mobilize in favour of the creation of a national cup, but nothing came of it. On 20 April 2022, the Uruguayan Football Association announced the creation of the ''Copa AUF Uruguay'', being approved by several clubs involved. The Cercado de Lima ('Walled Lima'), Damero de Pizarro ('Pizarro's Checkerboard'), or Lima Cuadrada ('Squared Lima') is an area of the historic center of Lima (capital of Peru) located within the old walls of the city.
