Sociedade Esportiva Juventude, usually known as Juventude Samas, Juventude-MA or simply Juventude, is a Brazilian football club from São Mateus do Maranhão, Maranhão. Juventude Samas is currently ranked fourth among Maranhão teams in CBF's national club ranking, at 103rd place overall. History Founded in 1979 in the city of Caxias, Juventude only played amateur competitions until 2005, when it played in the Campeonato Maranhense Second Division. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D (English: Brazilian Championship Serie D), commonly known as the Série D or the Brazilian Série D to distinguish it from the Italian Serie D, is the fourth division of the Brazilian football league system, and was announced by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on 9 April 2008. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was formed from the split of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C, Série C, keeping its best 20 clubs and playing double round robin as does the top three divisions. The Série D keeps the same format of the older Série C, but with participation limited to 40 clubs recognized by the state federation. In 2016 the Série D was expanded to 68 clubs, but in 2022 it was reduced to 64 clubs. Imperatriz is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Maranhão. The city extends along the northeastern bank of the Tocantins River and is crossed by the Belém-Brasília Highway, standing on the border with the state of Tocantins (state), Tocantins. 2013 Campeonato Maranhense
The 2013 Campeonato Maranhense de Futebol was the 96th edition of the Maranhão's top professional football league. The competition began on February 17, and ended on June 12. Maranhão Atlético Clube won the championship for the 14th time, while São José and Americano were relegated. Format In the first stage, there are two rounds. Each round is a round-robin. The four best teams in each round advances to a playoff, so the winner of the round can be determined. In the final stage, each round winner plays in the final.
