Cooper City is a city in Broward County, Florida, United States. The city is named for Morris Cooper, who founded the community in 1959. It's part of the Miami metropolitan area of South Florida. The city's population was 34,401 at the 2020 census. In 2006, Cooper City expanded with the annexation of the Waldrep Dairy Farm. Geography Cooper City is located at . The city is bounded by Davie to the north, Pembroke Pines to the south, both Hollywood and Davie to the east, and Southwest Ranches to the west. Tropical climate is the first of the five major climate groups in the Köppen climate classification identified with the letter A. Southwest Ranches is a town in Broward County, Florida, United States. It is a suburban community part of the Miami metropolitan area and is located on the eastern edge of the Everglades, southwest of Fort Lauderdale and about northwest of Miami. Waldrep Dairy Farm
The Waldrep Dairy Farm, established in 1928, was the last functional dairy farm in Broward County and Miami-Dade County within the state of Florida until its closure in 2005. With much of the South Florida region finding its roots as farm, it served as a landmark and reminder of Broward County's past. At its peak, the farm's reach included many sections of what is now the City of Cooper City, eastern sections of the City of Pembroke Pines, western sections of the City of Hollywood and some areas of the Town of Davie. By the mid 1990s, it has been reduced to less than . Owned by Wiley Waldrep until his death in 1997, the farm was passed on to his grandchildren.
