''Adipurush'' () is an upcoming Indian mythological film based on the epic ''Ramayana''. The film is written and directed by Om Raut and produced by T-Series and Retrophiles. Shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu languages, the film stars Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan (in his Telugu debut). ''Adipurush'' was announced in August 2020, through an official motion poster. Principal photography commenced in February 2021 and ended in November 2021 taking place primarily in Mumbai, followed by post-production works. The film's music is composed by Ajay–Atul. Lakshmana ( sa, लक्ष्मण, lit=the fortunate one, translit=Lakṣmaṇa), also spelled as Laxmana, is the younger brother of Rama and his loyalist in the Hindu epic ''Ramayana''. Lanka (, ) is the name given in Hindu epics to the island fortress capital of the legendary asura king Ravana in the epics of the ''Ramayana'' and the ''Mahabharata''. The fortress was situated on a plateau between three mountain peaks known as the Trikuta Mountains. The ancient city of Lankapura is said to have been burnt down by Hanuman. Ajay-Atul is an Indian music composer duo comprising brothers Ajay and Atul Gogavale. They won the Best Music Direction award at the 56th National Film Awards from the Government of India for their music in the Marathi film '' Jogwa'' in 2008.
