Albert Clinton Conner
Albert Clinton Conner (September 5, 1848 – April 13, 1929) was an American Impressionist painter who was an integral part of the Richmond Group of painters in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. After moving to California, Conner helped found The Painters' Club of Los Angeles in 1906, which lay the groundwork for the creation of the California Art Club three years later in 1909. Doyle Edward Conner Sr. (December 17, 1928 – December 16, 2012) was an American politician. He served as Florida Commissioner of Agriculture for 30 years, and also served as Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives. He was born in 1928 in Starke, Florida. Early life Conner was a fourth generation Floridian. From an early age, he worked in the family business of raising cattle, growing strawberries, and cutting timber. As a young man, Conner was active in 4-H, serving as president of the local and Alachua County branches of the club. At the age of 14, while attending a Florida Cooperative Extension Service forestry camp at a 4-H facility, Conner met the Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Nathan Mayo, and proclaimed that he would, some day, become Agriculture Commissioner when Mayo retired. Jean Conner Sandstedt (born 1933) is an American artist. Biography Jean Conner was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and earned her BFA from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, going on to earn her MFA from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Conner was part of the "Rat Bastard Collective". She married Bruce Conner in 1957. They moved to San Francisco. Conner has five works in the collection of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. In 2017, her work was shown at Karma Gallery. The San Jose Museum of Art will present the first comprehensive solo exhibition of her work with an accompanying publication from May 7-Sept 25, 2022. Hayden Conner (born April 26, 2002) is an American professional football guard for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Texas Longhorns and was selected by the Cardinals in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL draft. Early life and high school Conner attended James E. Taylor High School in Harris County, Texas, and was rated as a four-star recruit in the class of 2021 before committing to play college football for the Texas Longhorns. Career Originally from Ellensburg, Washington, Conner formed the band Explosive Generation with his brother Van Conner and Mark Pickerel in the early 1980s. That band later evolved into Screaming Trees with the addition of singer Mark Lanegan in 1985. The band moved to Seattle in the late 1980s to join that city's burgeoning alternative rock scene. Fox Conner (November 2, 1874 – October 13, 1951) was a major general of the United States Army. He served as operations officer for the American Expeditionary Forces (AEF) during World War I, and is best remembered as a mentor to the generation of officers who led the army in World War II, particularly as "the man who made Eisenhower." Early life Conner was born on November 12, 1874, at Slate Springs, in Calhoun County, Mississippi. His father, Robert Herbert Conner, was a soldier in the Confederate States Army who was wounded several times during the American Civil War. In his final engagement, the Battle of Atlanta, Robert Conner was shot in the head and lost his sight. After the war he was nicknamed "Blind Bob".
