Congreso Del Perú
() is a musical band from Chile. Founded in 1969 in Quilpué, the band has been highly acclaimed with over 50 years in Latin American music. The band is one of the most important bands in the history of Chilean music, both for its refined musical compositions with lyrics of social and ethnic content, as well as for the good reception of the national and international public and critics. Formed together with Los Jaivas and Los Blops, it's one of the cornerstones in the new Chilean progressive sound and the ' Chilenization of Rock' between the mid 60's and early 70's. They began their career in the late 1960s linked to the New Chilean Song movement, however with the advent of the military dictatorship and cultural constraints of the time, added to the great instrumental vocation of its members, they evolved into a progressive rock style, and later to a fusion sound that incorporated elements also from jazz fusion, contemporary music, pop music, and world music, in a style named ... Quilpué
Quilpué is a city and capital of the Marga Marga Province in central Chile's Valparaíso Region. It is part of the Greater Valparaíso metropolitan area. It is widely known as "City of the Sun" () and the urban part of it also comprises the town of El Belloto, an area that showed rapid growth in the late 1990s. Etymology There are various theories about the origin of the word . According to some, ' means , arguing that pigeons were found abundantly in the area and that the name derives from the aboriginal words and . Los Blops
Los Blops were a Chilean rock band, regarded as one of the foremost bands in the country. The band originally formed in the town of Isla Negra in 1964 to perform cover versions of pop hits in local clubs. They took their name from characters in a popular comic strip, ''Condorito''. The original band members were Julio Villalobos (guitar, vocals), Alejandro Greene (guitar) and Pedro Greene (drums). After Alejandro Greene left in 1966, the remaining pair were joined by Felipe Orrego (guitar) and his cousins Juan Pablo Orrego (bass) and Andrés Orrego (vocals). Francisco "Pancho" Sazo
Francisco Sazo (Quilpué, March 22, 1953) better known in the musical industry as Pancho Sazo is a Chilean musician and professor of philosophy. Frontman, singer, instrumentalist and lyricist, he is a founding member of the group Congreso, with which he has been in business for more than 50 years. Biography He studied at the Liceo Eduardo de la Barra in Valparaíso. Francisco Sazo's beginnings in music date back to the mid-1960s when, as a schoolboy in Quilpué, he formed together with his classmates the group called ''Los Sicodélicos'', a group influenced by the British invasion of The Beatles and the Rolling Stones that tried to make a beat and psychedelic sound on the local scene and that in turn was more avant-garde by including Latin American elements.
