Communication And Information Systems Groups (CIS)
The Communication and Information Systems Groups (Gp CIS), known until 2002 as the Transmission Troops or TTr (, {{langx, fr, Troupes de Transmissions), are the military communications units of the Land Component of the Belgian Armed Forces. They operate and maintain secure communications and information systems at strategic, operational and tactical level. Each brigade headquarters was also supported by its own HQ company that included a Transmission platoon. In 2002, the brigade headquarters Transmission platoons were disbanded, and the independent Transmission units transformed into Groups CIS (Gp CIS). The 10th Group Communication and Information Systems is a military communications unit in the Belgian Army, Land Component of the Military of Belgium, Belgian Armed Forces. The Motorised Brigade, formerly the Medium Brigade, is a Brigade of the Land Component of the Belgian Armed Forces commanded by Kolonel Lieven Geeraert. The Special Operations Regiment is a special operations force of the Land Component of the Belgian Armed Forces. Its headquarters is located in Heverlee. It was known as the Light Brigade until 3 July 2018 when it was renamed and transformed into its current form.
