Commonwealth Games Federation
The Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF), currently known as Commonwealth Sport, is the international organisation responsible for the direction and control of the Commonwealth Games and Commonwealth Youth Games, and is the governing body of the Commonwealth Games Associations (CGA). The headquarters of CGF are located in London, England. History Due to the success of the first 1930 British Empire Games in Hamilton, Canada, a meeting of representatives from Great Britain, its dominions, colonies and territories decided that the games, similar to the Olympic Games should be held every four years, and that an authoritative organisation should be formed. Jegathesan Manikavasagam (born 2 November 1943), is often referred to as the ''Flying Doctor of Malaysia'' for his athletic achievements in Asia, despite being firstly a medical student then a doctor. The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding valuable service in a wide range of useful activities. Dame Louise Livingstone Martin, DBE (''née'' Campbell; born 1946) is the President of the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF). Catherine Anne Grant Sadleir (born 14 August 1964) is a New Zealand sports executive and former synchronized swimmer. Biography Sadleir was born in Torphins, Scotland to Australian and Scottish parents. The family emigrated to Canada, then, when she was 16, moved to New Zealand and settled in Lower Hutt. Sadleir first participated in synchronised swimming when she was living in Canada, aged 8, and represented the country in the sport. Craig Phillips (born May 1960) is a leading Australian sports administrator. In 2015, he was appointed the chief executive officer at Australian Commonwealth Games Association (now known as Commonwealth Games Australia). Claire Rhiannon Carver-Dias (born May 19, 1977) is a Canadian competitor in synchronized swimming and Olympic medallist. Career She grew up in Montreal, Quebec, but moved to Toronto in her late teens to pursue a career on the Canadian National Synchronized Swim Team. From 1994 to 1996 Carver-Dias competed in the duet event and won several national titles with duet partner Estella Warren, who went on to become an international model and movie-star.
