Commodore 64GS
The Commodore 64 Games System (often abbreviated C64GS) is the ROM cartridge, cartridge-based home video game console version of the popular Commodore 64 home computer. It was released in December 1990 by Commodore International, Commodore into a booming console market dominated by Nintendo and Sega. It was only released in Europe and was a considerable commercial failure. The C64GS came bundled with a cartridge containing four games: ''Fiendish Freddy's Big Top O'Fun'', ''International Soccer'', ''Flimbo's Quest'', and ''Klax (computer game), Klax''. The C64GS was not Commodore's first gaming system based on the Commodore 64 hardware. However, unlike the 1982 MAX Machine (a game-oriented computer based on a very cut-down version of the same hardware family), the C64GS is internally very similar to the complete Commodore 64, with which it is compatible. ''Pang'', originally released in Japan as and known in North America as ''Buster Bros.'', is a 1989 action game, co-produced by Mitchell Corporation and Capcom for arcades in 1989. Mitchell handled the game's domestic and most worldwide distribution, while Capcom handled the bulk of development, and distributed the game in North American territories. The basic gameplay is identical to a 1983 Japanese MSX computer game called ''Cannon Ball'' (also released in 1983 on the ZX Spectrum as ''Bubble Buster''). ''Cannon Ball'' was made by Japanese publishers Hudson Soft, and it was licensed by Mitchell Corporation six years later to make ''Pang''. ''Special Criminal Investigation'', also known as ''S.C.I.'' for short or as ''Chase HQ II: Special Criminal Investigation'' in some home versions, is vehicular combat racing game published by Taito for arcades in 1989. It is the sequel to the 1988 game '' Chase H.Q.'' Gameplay Instead of the black Porsche 928 of the first game, the player commands a red example of the just-introduced (at the time) Nissan 300ZX Z32 T-Top Turbo.
