Park Square is a major roundabout in Sheffield, England. The Sheffield Parkway, a major road from M1 Junction 33, terminates here. It is located next to Ponds Forge and Victoria Quays. Fitzalan Square
Fitzalan Square is a municipal square situated in the city centre of Sheffield in South Yorkshire, England. The present day square is one of the busiest areas of the city centre, with traffic and pedestrians continually moving through the area. It has a Sheffield Supertram stop and a taxi rank. This area of the city had been the market quarter since the medieval era and the modern square takes its name from the Fitzalan Market Hall, which stood near the site from 1786 to 1930. The Fitzalans were a lesser branch of the Howard family, Dukes of Norfolk and the major local landowners at that time. In 2017, Sheffield City Council announced plans to renovate the square. Arundel Gate is one of the main thoroughfares in Sheffield, England. It is located in the Heart of the City, Sheffield, Heart of the City area of Sheffield City Centre. Arundel Gate also features a fifteen-stand bus station, including a ticket office building, completed in 2005. Arundel Gate is long, running through the eastern side of the city centre. Canada House, formerly known as Panache House, is a Grade II* listed building situated on the northern side of Commercial Street in the centre of the city of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. It was built as the head offices of the Sheffield United Gas Light Company in 1874. While the main outlook of the building is out onto Commercial Street there is also a short frontage onto Shude Hill at its eastern end and this designated as 19 Shude Hill. History The building was constructed for the Sheffield United Gas Light Company in 1874 by M.E. Hadfield & Son in the classical style of a grand Italian villa. It was originally named Panache House, and this designation remains carved above the main entrance. The interior contains ornate plaster ceilings and period fireplaces. Ponds Forge International Sports Centre is a leisure complex in Sheffield, England. It has an Olympic-sized swimming pool with 2,600 seating capacity, a family and children's pools (50 m Competition pool and 25 metre diving pit), water slides amongst other facilities. Managed by Everyone Active on behalf of the Sheffield City Council. History Ponds Forge was opened in 1991 as a venue for the Summer Universiade, which the city hosted that year. In the 1994 UK Sports Design Awards, Ponds Forge was highly commended in the overall category, and for the use of steel in its construction it won the British Steel Award. The name ''Ponds Forge'' is borrowed from the steel works that formerly occupied this site and a high anvil has been left in situ next to the building, partly because it was deemed too expensive to move.
