Marcos Sampaio Olsen
Marcos Sampaio Olsen (born 8 March 1961) is a Brazilian navy admiral, incumbent Brazilian Navy Commander. He joined the military career in 1979 and was declared Gardes de la Marine, Guard of the Navy in 1982. Olsen acted as commander of minesweeper NV Atalaia (M-17) and submarine Brazilian submarine Tapajó (S-33), S ''Tapajó'' and as chief mate of submarine Brazilian submarine Tamoio (S-31), S ''Tamoio'' and aircraft carrier Brazilian aircraft carrier São Paulo, NAe ''São Paulo''. In 2011, Olsen was promoted to counter admiral and assumed many offices in the Navy. In December 2017, Olsen was responsible of the General Management of Nuclear and Technological Development of the Navy, responsible for planning and coordination of all activities related to the development of nuclear technology. ''Don (honorific), Dom'' Pedro I (12 October 1798 – 24 September 1834), known in Brazil and in Portugal as "the Liberator" () or "the Soldier King" () in Portugal, was the founder and List of monarchs of Brazil, first ruler of the Empire of Brazil from 1822 to 1831 (under the name of Pedro I) and List of Portuguese monarchs#House of Braganza (1640–1910), King of Portugal in 1826 (under the name of Pedro IV). Joaquim Rodrigues Torres, the Viscount of Itaboraí (13 December 1802 – 8 January 1872) was a Brazilian politician and monarchist during the period of the Empire of Brazil (1822–1889). He was the country's Prime Minister from 1868 to 1870. Biography Born in 1802 to Manuel José Rodrigues Torres and Emerenciana Matilde Torres, he received his basic education in Rio de Janeiro and later travelled to Portugal, where he graduated in mathematics at the University of Coimbra in 1825. Upon returning to Brazil the following year, he was hired as a surrogate teacher at the Royal Military Academy. He returned to Europe in 1827, improved his education in Paris until 1829, and then returned to Brazil, where he worked as a teacher until 1833.
