Colquitt County is a County (United States), county in the U.S. state of Georgia (U.S. state), Georgia. As of the 2020 United States census, 2020 census, the population was 45,898. The county seat is Moultrie, Georgia, Moultrie. The county was created on February 25, 1856, and is named for Walter Terry Colquitt, a United States Senate, U.S. senator. Colquitt County comprises the Moultrie, GA Micropolitan Statistical Area, micropolitan statistical area. Geography According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of , of which is land and (2.2%) is water. It is located in Southwest Georgia. Colquitt County Courthouse is an historic government building constructed in 1902 and located at Courthouse Square in Moultrie, Georgia, the seat of Colquitt County, Georgia, Colquitt County. State Route 133 (SR 133) is an four-lane southeast-to-northwest state highway in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. It travels through portions of Lowndes, Brooks, Colquitt, Worth, Dougherty, and Lee counties. It connects the Valdosta and Albany areas. State Route 111 (SR 111) is a state highway in the southwest part of the U.S. state of Georgia. The highway runs from the Florida state line, southwest of Calvary northeast through Cairo and Meigs, glancing off the northwest corner of Riverside, and ending in Moultrie. Route description SR 111 begins as Darsey Calvary Road in Florida, before transitioning to GA-111 in Georgia. It intersects with SR 93 in Cairo. There, the two routes form a concurrency to the north.
