Colnbrook
Colnbrook is a village in the Borough of Slough, Slough district in Berkshire, England. It lies within the historic counties of England, historic boundaries of Buckinghamshire, and straddles two distributaries of the River Colne, Hertfordshire, Colne, the Colne Brook and Wraysbury River. These two streams have their confluence just to the southeast of the village. Colnbrook is centred southeast of the Slough town centre, east of Windsor, Berkshire, Windsor, and west of central London. Colnbrook forms the greater part of the civil parishes in England, civil parish of Colnbrook with Poyle (see also Poyle). Junctions of the M4 motorway, M4 and M25 motorway, M25 are near the village. To the east is Longford, London, Longford, London, and Bedfont and Stanwell which abut the south of London Heathrow Airport. Colnbrook With Poyle
Colnbrook with Poyle is a civil parish in the borough of Slough in Berkshire, England. Located approximately west of central London and adjacent to the Greater London boundary, it is an urbanised parish with some industrial development and open land. The local council is Colnbrook with Poyle Parish Council. The parish was created on 1 April 1995 as an amalgamation of Colnbrook from the parish of Iver with Poyle from an unparished area. At the 2001 census it had a population of 5,426. History The parish was formed on 1 April 1995. Most of Colnbrook had been from 1974 in the parish of Iver in South Bucks district in Buckinghamshire, and before 1974 had been mostly in the parish of Horton, with small areas in Langley Marish. Poyle had been in the unparished borough of Spelthorne in Surrey (before 1974 forming part of the Staines Urban District of Surrey which had transferred from Middlesex in 1965). Poyle is a largely industrial and agricultural area in the Unitary authorities of England, unitary authority of Borough of Slough, Slough, in the Ceremonial counties of England, ceremonial county of Berkshire, England (of which it is the easternmost settlement). It is located west of Charing Cross in London and immediately west of the M25 motorway, near Heathrow Airport; it also adjoins the Colne Valley regional park. Longford, London
Longford is a suburban village in the London borough of Hillingdon, England. It is immediately northwest of London Heathrow Airport, which is in the same borough. It is the westernmost settlement in Greater London, very close to the borders of both Berkshire and Surrey. It was formerly part of Harmondsworth by tithes, land tax, vestry and still by Church of England parish. As it has never had a church it can also be considered a hamlet. Stanwell is a village in the Borough of Spelthorne, Spelthorne district, in Surrey, England. It is west of central London. A small corner of its land is used as industrial land for nearby Heathrow Airport. The rest of the village is made up of residential and recreational land. Colne Brook
The Colne Brook is a river in England that is a distributary of the River Colne which runs from Uxbridge Moor, there forming the western border of Greater London, to the River Thames just below Bell Weir Lock in Hythe End, Wraysbury, Berkshire. Course On leaving the Colne at Uxbridge Moor in the Colne Valley regional park, the Colne Brook flows close by to its west until West Drayton then passes under the M25 motorway at the M4 " Thorney interchange", enters Berkshire and flows through the village of Colnbrook. Woodstock Palace was a royal residence in the English town of Woodstock, Oxfordshire. M4 Motorway
The M4, originally the London-South Wales Motorway, is the third longest motorway in the United Kingdom, running from west London to southwest Wales.
