Birgit Collin-Langen (born 4 September 1956) is a German politician who served as Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from 2012 until 2019. She is a member of the Christian Democratic Union, part of the European People's Party. Career Between 1993 and 1996, Collin-Langen headed the department for legal affairs and human resources at the Investment and Economic Development Bank of Rhineland-Palatinate (ISB). Collin-Langen served as the mayor of Bingen am Rhein from 1996 to 2012. In this capacity, she also served as vice-president of the Congress of the Council of Europe. Ahead of the 2011 state elections, she was part of Julia Klöckner's campaign team and served as shadow minister of justice and internal affairs. Aurélien Collin (; born 8 March 1986) is a French former professional footballer who played as a defender. He spent the majority of his career playing in Major League Soccer. He is currently an assistant coach with Major League Soccer side Houston Dynamo. Albéric Collin (6 April 1886 – 27 February 1962) was a Belgian people, Belgian animalier sculptor and pastel artist. Biography Collin was born in Antwerp and was educated there, training in the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Antwerp), Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, where among his teachers was Josuë Dupon. He was a member of the Antwerp Group. He was a close friend of the Italian animalier Rembrandt Bugatti, who was based in Antwerp for several years before World War I. Career Early career Born in Penrith, Cumbria, Collin started his career as a professional footballer with Newcastle United as a youngster. Abel Collin (1653 – 1705) was an English philanthropist. He established Abel Collin's Charity. Family He was the son of Laurence Collin. His sister, Fortune Collin, married Thomas Smith, founder of Smith's Bank in Nottingham. History of the Charity By his Will, published in 1704, twenty four alms houses were built in Nottingham.
