Collide (band)
Collide is an American industrial music duo formed in Los Angeles in 1992, that has incorporated elements of trip hop, synthpop and music from the Middle East into their sound. The name comes from the 'collision' of musical styles, primarily the ethereal vocals provided by kaRIN and the electronic music provided by Statik. Collide's debut album, '' Beneath the Skin'', was released in 1996, followed by a remix album, '' Distort'', in 1998. Dissatisfied with the music industry, Collide started their own record label, Noiseplus Music, and in 2000, they released their second studio album, '' Chasing the Ghost''. Three years later, they released their third studio album, ''Some Kind of Strange''. The following year, the band released another remix album, '' Vortex'', containing remixes by numerous remix artists, including Charlie Clouser and Rhys Fulber. Curve (band)
Curve were an English alternative rock and electronic music duo from London, formed in 1990 and dissolved in 2005. The band consisted of Toni Halliday (vocals, occasionally guitar) and Dean Garcia (bass, guitar, drums, programming). Halliday wrote the lyrics of their songs and they both contributed to songwriting. Producer Alan Moulder was a prominent collaborator who helped shape their blend of heavy beats and densely–layered guitar tracks set against Halliday's vocals. These Eyes Before
''These Eyes Before'' is a cover album by Collide, released on October 31, 2009 by Noiseplus Music. Reception Addicted to Media claimed ''These Eyes Before'' "gives the feeling of hearing these songs for the first time and falling in love with them all over again" and that the band's "respect for the artists and the songs they covered is evident and the production of the songs is flawless." Release Magazine gave the album six out of ten and said " Collide have developed their own sexy, slow, groovy sound over the years, and manage to keep that throughout, keeping it interesting" but that "they always slow the songs down, which means that some songs lose their energy in the process." The Crimson Trial
''...The Crimson Trial'' is the debut studio album of Collide, released in 1995 by Noiseplus Music. It was pressed in limited quantity cassette tape and all track versions are different than those on later releases. Songs on side two of the album remain unreleased elsewhere. Reception Sonic Boom praised the vocal performances of ''...The Crimson Trial'' and said that vocalist Karin Johnston "creates a distinctive mood with seems to mesh with whatever particular style of music being played whither it is hardcore industrial dance to ambient percussion." Warr Guitar
The Warr Guitar is an American-made touch guitar, a type of instrument that combines both bass and melodic strings on a single fretboard. Invented by Mark Warr, a musician from Thousand Oaks, California, it is related to the Chapman Stick, another two-handed tapping instrument. The Warr guitar is designed for either two-handed tapping or strumming. Warr guitars have between seven and 14 strings. In popular music, a cover version, cover song, remake, revival, or simply cover is a new performance or recording by a musician other than the original performer or composer of the song. Originally, it referred to a version of a song released around the same time as the original in order to compete with it. Now, it refers to any subsequent version performed after the original.
