College of Art, New Delhi, established in 1942 under the arts department of the Delhi College of Engineering now the Delhi Technological University (DTU), is an art college for advanced training in Visual Art. It is run by the Government of NCT Delhi. It is situated on Tilak Marg, New Delhi.In 2021, the Government of NCT Delhi has de-affiliated the college from Delhi University and merged it with Ambedkar University Delhi. Satish Gujral
Satish Gujral (25 December 1925 – 26 March 2020) was an Indian painter, sculptor, muralist and writer of the post-independent era. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian award of the Republic of India, in 1999. His elder brother, Inder Kumar Gujral, was the Prime Minister of India between 1997 and 1998. Early life Gujral was born in Jhelum in the Punjab Province of British India (now in Punjab, Pakistan) into a Punjabi Hindu Khatri family. When he was crossing a rickety bridge in Kashmir, he slipped and fell into the rapids, which later resulted in impairment of hearing, which he regained after surgery in 1998, 62 years later. Gopi Gajwani (born 1938 in Sind, India) is a painter, photographer, designer, and cartoonist from New Delhi, India. He graduated from the Delhi School of Art in 1959 with a degree in Graphic Designing. Career Gajwani did his graduation in arts from Delhi College of Arts. He was a designer at the American Centre for twenty-nine years, creating posters for plays, films, dances, and workshops, both home-grown and foreign. He contributed cartoons and caricatures to the magazine Span and other publications, besides working as an illustrator. Gajwani designed several coffee table books, some with his own photographs. Sangeet Natak Akademi (The National Academy of Music, Dance and Drama in English) is the national level academy for performing arts set up by the Government of India.
