Cody Morissette
Cody Hodsdon Morissette (born January 16, 2000) is an American professional baseball second baseman in the Miami Marlins organization. Early life and amateur career Morissette grew up in Exeter, New Hampshire, and attended Exeter High School, where he was an All-State selection in football, basketball and baseball. He was named the New Hampshire Division I Baseball Player of the Year as a junior and as a senior he was named New Hampshire's Mr. Basketball. Morissette had 99 career hits and compiled a 19–1 win–loss record with a 1.21 earned run average (ERA) as a pitcher over four seasons. Morissette played college baseball for the Boston College Eagles. He started all 58 of the Eagles' games as a second baseman during his freshman season in 2019 and finished the season with .320 batting average with 20 doubles, four home runs, 41 runs batted in (RBIs) and 27 runs scored. Home Run
In baseball, a home run (abbreviated HR) is scored when the ball is hit in such a way that the batter is able to circle the bases and reach home plate safely in one play without any errors being committed by the defensive team. A home run is usually achieved by hitting the ball over the outfield fence between the foul poles (or hitting either foul pole) without the ball touching the field. Futures Collegiate Baseball League
The Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL) is an eight-team collegiate summer baseball league. It has four franchises in Massachusetts, two in Connecticut, and one each in New Hampshire and Vermont. Format The Futures League is a wood-bat league. Its regular season schedule calls for 68 games per team as of 2021 (34 home and 34 away games). FCBL ballplayers are unpaid collegiate athletes who join the league to gain experience and exposure to Major League Baseball scouts. The FCBL mission is to prepare young men for the rigors of playing professional baseball. The North Shore Navigators are a wooden-bat, collegiate summer baseball team based in Lynn, Massachusetts, playing in the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL). The team plays home games at Fraser Field in Lynn. The team is owned by Old School Sports Group, LLC. The Navigators are the successor to the Giants of the New England Collegiate Baseball League, a charter team in Middletown, Connecticut that moved to Holyoke, Massachusetts. The Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL or Cape League) is a collegiate summer baseball wooden bat league located on Cape Cod in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. The Bourne Braves are a collegiate summer baseball team based in Bourne, Massachusetts. The team is a member of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) and plays in the league's West Division. The Braves play their home games at Doran Park on the campus of Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School in Bourne. The Braves are owned and operated by the non-profit Bourne Athletic Association. Collegiate Summer Baseball
Collegiate summer baseball leagues are amateur baseball leagues in the United States and Canada featuring players who have attended at least one year of college and have at least one year of athletic eligibility remaining. Generally, they operate from early June to early August. In contrast to college baseball, which allow aluminum or other composite baseball bats, players in these leagues use only wooden bats, hence the common nickname of these leagues as "wood-bat leagues".
