Cocoon (Björk Song)
"Cocoon" is a song by Icelandic singer Björk for her fourth studio album, ''Vespertine'' (2001). Written and produced by Björk and Thomas Knak, it was released as the album's third single on 11 March 2002 by One Little Indian Records. Inspired by her relationship with artist Matthew Barney, Björk wanted to create a record with a domestic mood. Working with Knak, she wrote "Cocoon", a song which is lyrically about a woman who describes making love with her lover during their post-coital hibernation, and includes frank sexual narrative related both explicitly and through over-sharing and metaphor. Music critics received "Cocoon" with positive reviews, calling it one of the album's highlights. Apache Cocoon, usually abbreviated as Cocoon, is a web application framework built around the concepts of Pipeline, separation of concerns, and component-based web development. The framework focuses on XML and XSLT publishing and is built using the Java programming language. Cocoon's use of XML is intended to improve compatibility of publishing formats, such as HTML and PDF. The content management systems Apache Lenya and Daisy have been created on top of the framework. Cocoon is also commonly used as a data warehousing ETL tool or as middleware for transporting data between systems. The Cocoon
''The Cocoon'' is the debut solo album by British guitarist and keyboardist Richard Henshall of Haken fame. It was released on 9 August 2019. It features guest performances of his Haken bandmate Ross Jennings (vocals), among other guests. The main members include bassist Conner Green (also of Haken) and Cynic drummer Matt Lynch. It was initially planned for a 26 July release. Henshall cites Bon Iver, Meshuggah and Squarepusher as influences and says the album reflects his tastes for electronic music, jazz and metal. The song "Twisted Shadows", which features guest performances from Jennings and from Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess, started with some improvisations at Henshall's piano and is influenced by Prince, Frank Zappa, The Dear Hunter and Meshuggah. Cocoon was a techno nightclub in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It had space for 1,500 visitors and consisted of two restaurants, multiple lounge spaces, bars and small private and public ''cocoons'' made out of sofas which were placed inside the walls. It was closed on 30 November 2012. It was replaced by the club ''moon13'' on the same location but under a different management. History Cocoon was opened on 18 July 2004 inside a newly built concrete office building, named ''U.F.O.'' (''Unbekannter Frankfurter Osten'') constructed by ''Dietz Joppien Architekten'' in the industrial east of Frankfurt. It was the successor of the Omen club. The designer of the club interior was the company 3deluxe from Wiesbaden. It was an investment of several million Euros (10 million just for the design by the company 3deluxe).
