RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta (; "Radio of the Gaeltacht"), abbreviated RnaG, is an Irish language radio station owned and operated by Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ). The station is available on FM in Ireland and via satellite and on the internet. In 2022, Raidio na Gaeltachta celebrated its 50th year in broadcasting. The station's main-headquarters are in Casla, County Galway with major studios also in Gaoth Dobhair, County Donegal and Ballydavid, County Kerry. History Background After the Irish Free State was formed and the Irish Civil War was concluded, the new state set up a single radio channel named 2RN in 1926, launched by Douglas Hyde. Patrick Kenny (born 29 January 1948) is an Irish broadcaster, who currently hosts the daily radio show ''The Pat Kenny Show'' on Newstalk and the current affairs show ''Pat Kenny Tonight'' on Virgin Media One. Prior to this, Kenny had a 41-year high-profile career at RTÉ, in which he was their highest paid presenter for several years. Jimmy Greeley
James Greeley (born 12 September 1945) is an Irish radio voiceover. He worked for 4fm until early 2012. Greeley is a veteran of Irish radio having worked for many stations such as Millennium 88FM, RTÉ 2fm RTÉ News and RTÉ Radio 1. In May 1994 he joined Dublin's local station 98FM, presenting the weekday ''Morning News'', alongside the Head Teena Gates. Greeley spent 14 years in that post. In 2006 he began a new show on the City Channel called ''On The Menu'' programme.
