Club Inglés Bella Vista
The Club Inglés Bella Vista is a cultural institution that exists in the Spanish municipality of Minas de Riotinto, in the province of Huelva. It was founded in 1878 by members of the British colony of Minas de Riotinto who worked for the Rio Tinto Company Limited (RTCL), and it soon become the center of social life in that British colony. Together with Exiles Cable Club (1873) in Vigo, this was one of the first companies dedicated to sports in the country, most notably, cricket, tennis and Association football, football, having sections dedicated to the said sports due to its prominence in England, the homeland of the company's workers. William Alexander Mackay
William Alexander Mackay (10 July 1860 – 14 July 1927) was a Scottish medical doctor who worked for the Rio Tinto mining company and co-founded Spain's oldest football club, Recreativo de Huelva. Early life William Mackay was born in Latheron, Caithness, on 10 July 1860, the son of Anglican priest Reverend John Mackay and Wilhelmina Sutherland. He graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a medical degree in 1882. Medical career In 1883 William Mackay began practicing as a doctor for the Rio Tinto mining company in Minas de Riotinto Huelva, Andalusia, Spain. His brother, John Sutherland Mackay, was the company's chief medical officer and the president of the company's football team. In 1883 medical provision for Rio Tinto staff was limited to that provided by the Spanish Provincial Hospital.
