Club Biguá de Villa Biarritz, better known as simply Biguá, is a Uruguayan professional basketball team that is based in Montevideo. The team currently plays in the Uruguayan Basketball League. The men's basketball section is a part of a multi-sports club, which offers a wide variety of different sports. The multi-sports club was founded in 1931, after "Biguá" and "Club Biarritz" merged to form "Club Biguá de Villa Biarritz". Biguá has won seven national titles: 3 Uruguayan Federal Championships and 4 Uruguayan Basketball League titles. The Liga Uruguaya de Básquetbol (abbreviated as LUB; English language, English: ''Uruguayan Basketball League'') is the highest professional club basketball league in Uruguay. It is organized by the Uruguayan Basketball Federation (FUBB). The Uruguayan Basketball League competition began in 2003. Before that time, the Uruguayan basketball championships were only local metropolitan, and no competitions brought together all the clubs in the country. The Campeonato Uruguayo Federal de Básquetbol (CFB) ( English: Uruguayan Federal Basketball Championship) was the top-tier level men's basketball national club competition in Uruguay. It was organized by the Uruguayan Basketball Federation (FUBB). It existed from 1915 to 2003, when it was replaced by the newly formed Liga Uruguaya de Básquetbol (LUB) (Uruguayan Basketball League). 2022 BCL Americas Final
The 2022 BCL Americas Final was the final game of the 2021–22 BCL Americas, the 3rd season of the league under its new entity and the 15th of the Pan-American premier basketball league organised by FIBA. It was played at the Arena Carioca 1 in Rio de Janeiro on 9 April 2022. The game was played between Brazilian club São Paulo and the Uruguayan club Biguá. FIBA Basketball Champions League Americas
The Basketball Champions League Americas (BCLA) (Spanish: ''Liga de Campeones de Baloncesto de las Américas'', Portuguese: ''Liga dos Campeões de Basquetebol das Américas'') is Pan-America's premier men's basketball club competition. Founded in 2019, it replaced the FIBA Americas League as the highest level league in the Americas. The winner of each year's competition qualifies to the annual FIBA Intercontinental Cup. Nicolás Mazzarino (born October 21, 1975) is a former Uruguayan professional basketball player, and current assistant coach for Club Biguá de Villa Biarritz of the Liga Uruguaya de Básquetbol. He also holds an Italian passport. At a height of tall, he played the point guard and shooting guard positions. Professional career Mazzarino began his professional career in the Uruguayan club Hebraica y Macabi in 1991. In this club, Mazzarino won the Uruguayan Federal Championship title in 1994. Néstor Rafael "Che" García (born 11 January 1965) is an Argentine professional basketball coach. Head coaching career Latin American clubs García won the 3rd-tier South American Club Championship in 2008, with Club Biguá de Villa Biarritz. He also won the 1st-tier FIBA Americas League championship in 2016, with Guaros de Lara. National teams García coached the Uruguay national team in 2003.
