Club Atlético Belgrano (; mostly known simply as Belgrano or Belgrano de Córdoba ) is an Argentine sports club from the city of Córdoba, best known for its football team, which currently plays in the Primera División, the first level of Argentine football league system, after being promoted from the 2022 Primera Nacional. Belgrano's stadium is called ''Julio César Villagra'' and is also known as ''El Gigante de Alberdi''; it is located in ''Barrio Alberdi'', in the central area of the city of Córdoba; it has a capacity of 35,000 spectators. The club occasionally uses the ''Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes'', which has a capacity of 57,000 spectators. History Belgrano was founded on 19 March 1905 in Barrio Alberdi. It was named in commemoration of the Argentine historical figure Manuel Belgrano, and its colours were taken from the flag of Argentina, created by Belgrano himself. Julio César Villagra Stadium, nicknamed ''El Gigante de Alberdi'', is a association football, football stadium located in Barrio Alberdi in Córdoba (Argentina), Córdoba, Argentina. Inaugurated on 17 March 1929, it is the home ground of Club Atlético Belgrano and has a capacity of 38,000 spectators. The stadium was named after Julio César Villagra (1961–1993), one of the greatest players for the club, who played for Belgrano from 1982 to 1993, when he committed suicide. History The idea to build a stadium came in 1927 led by Belgrano member Carlos Courel, who then became club vice president. Belgrano asked the mayor of Córdoba, Argentina, Córdoba, Emilio Olmos, for financial support to achieve that aim. Most of the work was financed by the Municipality, which lent the club peso moneda nacional, mn$60,000. The total cost was about mn$85,000. The Belgrano executives committed to repay the loan in bimonthly payments of $2,000 each.

Ignacio Francisco Chicco (born 30 June 1996) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Belgrano.
