Club Atlético Banfield Women is the women's association football section of the homonymous sports club, which is based in the city of Banfield in Greater Buenos Aires. They currently play in Primera División A. History The first stage of the women's football section of the Drill dates from 1997 to 2005 where the institution did not continue with the discipline. Banfield is a city in the district of Lomas de Zamora in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, south of the city center of Buenos Aires. It forms part of the Greater Buenos Aires metro area. History The area where the city is currently located originated from the laying of the railroad tracks. In principle, this allowed communication between Chascomús and the city of Buenos Aires, which at that time was the provincial capital. The Primera División A (; ), known officially as Campeonato Femenino YPF for sponsorship reasons, is a semi-professional women's football league in Argentina. The tournament is ruled by the Argentine Football Association (AFA), with its first season held in 1991.
