Clinton Conservation Park
Clinton Conservation Park, formerly the Clinton National Park, is a protected area in the Australian state of South Australia located on the coastline at the north end of Gulf St Vincent. The conservation park consists of two parts with the first extending from Clinton on Yorke Peninsula on the west side of Gulf St Vincent to Port Wakefield on the east side of the gulf and the second extending south of Port Wakefield to Sandy Point. The conservation park was originally proclaimed in 1970 as the ''Clinton National Park'' under the ''National Parks Act 1966'', was re-proclaimed under the ''National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972''. The area contained within the conservation park including the ‘head of gulf wetland and Wakefield River estuary’ is considered to be ‘important as a fish nursery and a significant site for migratory wading birds’. Port Arthur, South Australia
Port Arthur is a locality in the Australian state of South Australia located on the Yorke Peninsula at the northern end of Gulf St Vincent about north west of the state capital of Adelaide and about north of the town of Port Wakefield. Its boundaries were created in May 1999 for the "long established name." Port Arthur was used from 1861 to 1863 as a minor port for an enterprise moving passengers between Port Adelaide and the towns of Moonta and Wallaroo using the steam tug, ''Eleanor'', and coach services operated by both "Mr Opie's Horse Conveyances" and W.
