Climbing Trees
Climbing Trees are a Welsh four-piece "Cymrucana" band based in Pontypridd, South Wales. The group currently features Matthew Frederick (piano/guitar/vocals), Colenso Jones (guitar/bass/vocals), Martin Webb (guitar/bass/vocals) and James Bennetts (drums/vocals). History Formed in 2011, the band soon came to the attention of BBC Radio Wales as work on their first release progressed, being named BBC Introducing Band of the Week in February 2013 after supporting New York group Spin Doctors the previous month. Shortly after, the band appeared as part of ''BBC Radio Wales Music Day'', before ''Single of the Week'' (for ''Aloisi'') and ''Welsh Artist of the Week'' recognition followed in August 2013. In October of the same year, the band were hand-picked by Jamie Cullum as the support act for the Cardiff leg of his ''Momentum'' tour. Festival N°6
Festival N°6 (Festival Number 6) was an annual art and music festival held in and around Portmeirion, Wales. The festival presented a wide range of music genres across multiple stages. It was advertised as a family-friendly festival, and as such various areas of the festival are targeted to families, such as "No.6's Mischief Meadow" for children and a designated family camping area. In 2013 one of the organizers stated that due to the size of the village the festival was not likely to grow beyond 10,000 attendees across the weekend. In July 2018 the festival organisers announced that the festival would be taking an indefinite break. Grizzly Bear is an American rock band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2002. Cool Cymru () was a Welsh cultural movement in music and independent film in the 1990s and 2000s, led by the popularity of bands such as Catatonia, Stereophonics and Manic Street Preachers. Etymology and usage The term Cool Cymru (Cymru is the Welsh name for Wales) derived as a Welsh alternative to Cool Britannia (itself a pun on the British patriotic song "Rule, Britannia!"). Cool Britannia described the revival of British art and culture in the 1990s centred on London (as celebrated in a 1996 ''Newsweek'' cover headlined "London Rules"), emphasised British culture and used British symbols such as The Union Jack. By 1998 many Welsh cultural figures were gaining prominence within the UK, at the same time the use of the term Cool Britannia had become maligned by some cultural commentators as a ubiquitous term for any part of British Culture.
