Clark Swisher
Clark Leo Swisher (March 27, 1916 – November 28, 2005) was an American football and basketball coach. He served as the head football coach at Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota from 1946 and 1955 and from 1957 to 1968, compiling a record of 146–42–4. Swisher was also the head basketball coach at Northern State from 1946 to 1955, tallying a mark of 95–88. Swisher died on November 28, 2005, at a hospital in Wessington Springs, South Dakota Wessington Springs is a town and the county seat of Jerauld County, South Dakota, United States. Vermillion, South Dakota
Vermillion (; "The Place Where Vermilion is Obtained") is a city and the county seat of Clay County. It is in the southeastern corner of South Dakota, United States, and is the state's 12th-most populous city. According to the 2020 census, the population was 11,695. The city lies atop a bluff near the Missouri River. The area has been home to Native American tribes for centuries. French fur traders first visited in the late 18th century. Vermillion was founded in 1859 and incorporated in 1873. The name refers to the Lakota name: ''wa sa wak pa'la'' (red stream).
