"Clap" () is a song by South Korean boy group Seventeen. It was released as the lead single from their second studio album '' Teen, Age'' on November 6, 2017. Background and release In October 2017, Pledis Entertainment revealed that Seventeen would be releasing their second studio album titled ''Teen, Age''. The full track list was revealed on October 28, with "Clap" serving as the album's lead single. On November 7, Seventeen first performed "Clap" on a special broadcast by Mnet, alongside other songs from ''Teen, Age''. Composition The lyrics for "Clap" were written by Seventeen members Woozi, Jeonghan, Hoshi, Mingyu, DK and Seungkwan, alongside regular collaborators Park Ki-tae of Prismfilter and Bumzu. Seventeen (; stylized in all caps or as SVT) is a South Korean boy band formed by Pledis Entertainment. The Circle Digital Chart, previously known as the Gaon Digital Chart, is the music industry standard record chart ranking the 200 most popular singles in South Korea. It provides rankings on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis, which is based on an aggregate of streaming, downloads and background music from major South Korean music platforms, as well as video ringback tone sales from the V Coloring app. It is a part of the Circle Chart, previously known as the Gaon Chart. Pledis Entertainment () is a South Korean entertainment company founded by Han Sung-Soo in 2007. The label is home to Bumzu, Hwang Min-hyun, and groups Seventeen and TWS. Its name originates from the Pleiades, a star cluster in the constellation Taurus. On May 25, 2020, Hybe Corporation became its majority shareholder, but Pledis remains an independent label.
