Civic Renovation Party
The Civic Renovation Party (, or PCR) is a political party in the Dominican Republic which was founded in 2006 as the Civic Renovation Movement by Jorge Radhamés Zorrilla Ozuna and a group of social-democratic Dominicans. The party was recognized by the Junta Central Electoral on December 16, 2009 and participated in the 2012 presidential elections, supporting Dominican Liberation Party candidate Danilo Medina through the Progressive Bloc. Principles The Civic Renovation Party is "a political organization built by Dominican men and women with freedom of action, pacts, and alliances, and with a strategic vision towards the consolidation of true democracy. Jorge Radhamés Zorrilla Ozuna ( Guayabo Dulce, born December 16, 1954) is a Dominican lawyer, politician, and retired General of the Dominican Army. He is the President and founder of the Civic Renovation Party. He was Chief of Staff of the Dominican Army from 2003 to 2004 and is the current Director of the National Institute of Price Stabilization (Spanish: Instituto de Estabilización de Precios). Early life and education Jorge Radhamés Zorrilla Ozuna was born in Guayabo Dulce (a town of the province Hato Mayor in the Dominican Republic), on 16 December 1954 to Manuel María Zorrilla and Sirila Ozuna. Gregorio Luperón (September 8, 1839 – May 21, 1897) was a Dominican revolutionary, military general, businessman, liberal politician, Freemasonry, freemason, and statesman who was one of the leaders in the Dominican Restoration War. Luperón was an active member of the Triumvirate, Triunvirato of 1866, becoming the President of the Provincial Government in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, San Felipe de Puerto Plata, and after the successful coup against Cesareo Guillermo, he became the 20th President of the Dominican Republic.
