Ciudad Universitaria is a Sector in the city of Santo Domingo in the Distrito Nacional of the Dominican Republic. There are eighteen universities in Ciudad Universitaria in the city of Santo Domingo, the highest number of any city in the Dominican Republic. Established in 1538, Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) is the oldest university in the Americas and is also the only public university in the city. The Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (also called UNPHU) is a Private, coeducational, university in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
