Citroën C15
The Citroën C15 is a panel van produced by the France, French manufacturer Citroën from late 1984 until 2006. It was the successor to the Citroën Acadiane, which had replaced the Citroën 2CV vans that pioneered the box van format from the 1950s to the 1970s, although the Acadiane continued in production alongside the C15 initially. The name refers to the car's French gross vehicle weight rating and indicates its position beneath the Citroën C25, C25 and Citroën C35, C35 in Citroën's commercial vehicle range at the time. Design The C15 was based on the Citroën Visa (discontinued 1988), and mainly used a 1769 cc XUD or 1868 cc (PSA EW/DW engine#DW8, DW8 on late models), naturally aspirated (non turbo) diesel engine. Citroën Acadiane
The Citroën Acadiane is a small commercial vehicle produced by French company Citroën from 1977 to 1987. It was derived from the Citroën Dyane and only available in left-hand drive. Its production totalled 253,393. The Visa-based C15 van eventually replaced the Acadiane. Overview The name "Acadiane" was a pun on AK Dyane "Acadiane" because Citroën had already used the prefix "AK" for its light commercials. There was no connection of the car with the French-speaking region of Louisiana that is home to Cajun (Acadiane) cooking, or with l'Acadie, now part of Nova Scotia. The Acadiane was available in commercial (two-seater) form or as a "Mixte", with sliding rear windows and a removable rear bench seat. PSA TU Engine
The TU family of small Straight-four engine, inline-four Reciprocating engine, piston engines by PSA Peugeot Citroën were introduced in 1986 and used in the Peugeot and Citroën range of cars. It was first installed in the Citroën AX in October 1986, replacing the PSA X engine, X family, although it shared many components with its predecessor. The TU is available in either petrol or a naturally aspirated Diesel engine, diesel variant, the latter called TUD. The PSA EW/DW engine is a family of straight-4 black-top automobile engines manufactured by the PSA Group for use in their Peugeot and Citroën automobiles. The EW/DW family was introduced in 1998 as a replacement for the XU engine. Some DW engines are produced as part of a joint-venture with Ford Motor Company. The Fiat 242 was a van which was produced by Fiat from 1974. Overview The Fiat 242 van was the result of a cooperation with Citroën and was sold under the name Citroën C35 in France. Both vehicles were produced in Italy till 1987 with Fiat engines, and then in France by Chausson, when Fiat discontinued the 242. Citroën retained the model until 1992. The Fiat Ducato is a light commercial vehicle jointly developed by FCA Italy and PSA Group (currently Stellantis), and mainly manufactured by Sevel, a joint venture between the two companies since 1981.
