Cinkassé Prefecture
Cinkassé is a prefecture located in the Savanes Region of Togo. The cantons (or subdivisions) of Cinkassé include Cinkassé, Biankouri, Timbou, Nadjoundi, Boadé, Samnaba, Noaga, Gouloungoussi. The prefecture covers 281.8 km2, with a population of 128,959 in 2022. In the far northwest of Cinkassé is a long, thin strip along the border with Burkina Faso that includes Togo's furthest north and furthest west points. In this area is also Togo's only border with the Boulgou Province Boulgou is one of the 45 provinces of Burkina Faso and is in Centre-Est Region. The capital of Boulgou is Tenkodogo. Savanes Region, Togo
Savanes Region () is the northernmost of the five Regions of Togo. Dapaong is the regional capital and largest city. Another major town in the region is Mango. Savanes is divided into the prefectures of Cinkassé, Kpendjal, Kpendjal-Ouest, Oti, Oti-Sud, Tandjouaré, and Tône. To the south of Savanes is Kara Region, its only domestic border. A salient, panhandle, or bootheel is an elongated protrusion of a geopolitical entity, such as a subnational entity or a sovereign state. While similar to a peninsula in shape, a salient is most often not surrounded by water on three sides.
