Châteauguay—Les Jardins-de-Napierville
Châteauguay—Les Jardins-de-Napierville (formerly Châteauguay—Lacolle) () is a federal electoral district in Quebec. It encompasses a portion of Quebec formerly included in the electoral districts of Beauharnois—Salaberry and Châteauguay—Saint-Constant. Châteauguay—Lacolle was created by the 2012 federal electoral boundaries redistribution and was legally defined in the 2013 representation order. It came into effect upon the call of the 42nd Canadian federal election, scheduled for 19 October 2015. Following the 2022 federal electoral redistribution the riding was renamed Châteauguay—Les Jardins-de-Napierville. It gained both the Village and Township of Hemmingford, and the municipalities of Très-Saint-Sacrement, Howick, Saint-Chrysostome, Havelock, and Franklin from Salaberry—Suroît and lost a small piece of territory north of Autoroute 30 in Saint-Isidore and a small piece of territory near Ch. Sainte-Martine, Quebec
Sainte-Martine () is a municipality in Beauharnois-Salaberry Regional County Municipality in the Montérégie region of Quebec, Canada. The population as of the 2021 Canadian census was 5,664. The municipality is made up of a large northern section and a small unattached southern area that was known as the municipality of Saint-Paul-de-Châteauguay until its merger with Sainte-Martine on September 9, 1999. History Sainte-Martine is named in honor of Martina of Rome, martyred in 226. Being already settled and recognize as Sainte-Martine for many years, the status of the municipality was officialized on July 1, 1855, as the parish municipality of Sainte-Martine. The municipality lost a section of its territory in 1885 for the creation of the parish of Très-Saint-Sacrement. It also lost a sizeable part in 1937 when Saint-Paul-de-Châteauguay split from Saint-Martine to become its own municipality, but it was eventually reattached to Sainte-Martine in 1999. Châteauguay—Saint-Constant () was a federal electoral district in Quebec, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 2004 to 2015. Its population in 2006 was 107,165. Châteauguay—Saint-Constant was created in 2003 from Châteauguay riding, with the exception of a portion of Châteauguay that was transferred in Beauharnois—Salaberry and Saint-Jean ridings. Geography The district included all of the Regional County Municipality of Roussillon including Kahnawake Indian Reserve No. 14, but excluding the cities of Candiac and La Prairie and the Municipality of Saint-Philippe in the east of the county municipality. Beauharnois—Salaberry () is a former federal electoral district in Quebec, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1949 to 2015. Geography In 2003, the riding was re-defined to consist of the regional county municipalities of Beauharnois—Salaberry, Les Jardins-de-Napierville, and Le Haut-Saint-Laurent, including the parts of Akwesasne Indian Reserve No. 15 that lie within Quebec. In the 2006 census 88.7% of its population reported French only as their home language, 9.3% English (mostly in Le Haut-Saint-Laurent).
