A crystal or crystalline solid is a solid material whose constituents (such as atoms, molecules, or ions) are arranged in a highly ordered microscopic structure, forming a crystal lattice that extends in all directions. ''Chrystal'' is an American drama film, written and directed by Ray McKinnon and starring Billy Bob Thornton, Lisa Blount, Harry Lennix, Walton Goggins and Grace Zabriskie. Bob Chrystal
Robert Harry Chrystal (April 3, 1930 – January 27, 2023) was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman. Chrystal played 132 regular season games for the New York Rangers between 1953 and 1955. He scored 11 goals and 14 assists for 25 points. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1950 to 1959, was spent in the minor leagues. Chrystal died on January 27, 2023, at the age of 92. George Chrystal
George Chrystal FRSE FRS (8 March 1851 – 3 November 1911) was a Scottish mathematician. He is primarily known for his books on algebra and his studies of seiches (wave patterns in large inland bodies of water) which earned him a Gold Medal from the Royal Society of London that was confirmed shortly after his death. Life He was born in Old Meldrum on 8 March 1851, the son of Margaret (née Burr) and William Chrystal, a wealthy farmer and grain merchant. He was educated at Aberdeen Grammar School and the University of Aberdeen. In 1872, he moved to study under James Clerk Maxwell at Peterhouse, Cambridge. He graduated Second Wrangler in 1875, joint with William Burnside, and was elected a fellow of Corpus Christi. He was appointed to the Regius Chair of Mathematics at the University of St Andrews in 1877, and then in 1879 to the Chair in Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh. Katherine Chrystal Herne (June 16, 1883 – September 19, 1950) was an American stage actress. She was the daughter of actor/playwright James A. Herne and the younger sister of actress and Hollywood talent scout Julie Herne. Her stage credits include creating the title role in the original Broadway production of George Kelly's Pulitzer Prize–winning play, '' Craig's Wife'' (1925). Chrystal Jaye is a New Zealand medical anthropologist, and is a full professor at the University of Otago, specialising in social science in health care. She has researched social discourse around euthanasia, prevention of age-related workplace injuries, and rural health and wellbeing. Academic career Jaye is a medical anthropologist. Jaye completed a Bachelor of Arts, a PhD and a Postgraduate Diploma of Tertiary Teaching at the University of Otago. Jaye then joined the faculty of the University of Otago, rising to associate professor in 2012, and full professor in 2023.
