Christopher Ellison
Christopher Michael Ellison (born 16 December 1946 in St Pancras, London) is a British actor from London. He is best known for his role as DCI Frank Burnside in the ITV police series ''The Bill'' and short-lived spin-off series '' Burnside''. Education At school his art teacher encouraged him having seen his talent. Art remained his strong subject throughout his school years, and it was a natural progression that Ellison then moved on to art college, firstly at Wimbledon and then Camberwell. Career He served in the Merchant Navy, trained as a graphic designer and worked as a minicab driver. His first drama job was assistant stage manager at the Richmond Theatre. His first acting role was in the play ''Woman in a Dressing Gown'' at said theatre. His first major guest role was an appearance in ''The Sweeney'' (1975). ''Fort Boyard'' is a French game show developed by Jacques Antoine, it was first broadcast on 7 July 1990 (originally as ''Les Clés de Fort Boyard'', however shortened to ''Fort Boyard'' from the second series in 1991). Many foreign versions of the show, totalling over 1,800 episodes, have aired around the world since 1990. Set and filmed on the real Fort Boyard (fortification), fortress of the same name on the west coast of France, the programme appears similar to the British game show ''The Crystal Maze'' (February 1990 onwards) which was created as an alternative format by Antoine for Channel 4 in the United Kingdom, after the fortress was unavailable to film in because of its then ongoing refurbishment (during 1989). ''Crime Traveller'' is a 1997 British television science fiction detective series produced by Carnival Films for the BBC. It was based on the premise of using time travel for the purpose of solving crimes. Anthony Horowitz created the series and wrote every episode. He had the idea while writing an episode of ''Poirot''. Despite having over eight million viewers on a regular basis, ''Crime Traveller'' was not renewed after its first series. According to Horowitz, "The show wasn't exactly cut. There was a chasm at the BBC, created by the arrival of a new Head of Drama and our run ended at that time. There was no-one around to commission a new series...and so it just didn't happen." The Great Train Robbery was the robbery of £2.61 million (worth about £ million in ) from a Royal Mail train travelling from Glasgow to London on the West Coast Main Line in the early hours of 8 August 1963 at Bridego Railway Bridge, Ledburn, near Mentmore in Buckinghamshire, England. After tampering with the lineside signals to bring the train to a halt, a gang of 15, led by Bruce Reynolds, attacked the train.
