Christoph Zipf
Christoph Zipf (born 5 December 1962) is a former professional tennis player from Germany. Biography A Munich-based right-hander, Zipf was the European Under 18s singles and doubles champion in 1979. He was also a member of the West German team which won the 1981 Galea Cup. During his professional career he was unable to qualify for the main draw at a Grand Slam tournament, but made two finals on the Grand Prix circuit. He partnered with countryman Hans-Dieter Beutel to finish runner-up at Cologne in 1982. The following year, Zipf reached the singles finals of the 1983 Tel Aviv Open, as an unseeded player. He lost in the final to American Aaron Krickstein. Zipf represented the West Germany Davis Cup team in three ties, all doubles matches. He helped the West Germans win a World Group Relegation Play-off in the 1981 Davis Cup tournament, over Brazil in São Paulo. ''The Independent'' is a British online newspaper. It was established in 1986 as a national morning printed paper. Eric Jelen
Eric Jelen (born 11 March 1965) is a former tennis player from Germany, who won one singles (1989, Bristol) and five doubles titles during his professional career. The right-hander Jelen reached his highest singles Association of Tennis Professionals, ATP-ranking on 7 July 1986, when he became World No. 23. Jelen was a member of two Davis Cup-winning teams. Ulf Fischer
Ulf Fischer (born 29 July 1965) is a German tennis coach and former professional player. Active on tour in the 1980s, Fischer was born in Göttingen and had a best career singles world ranking of 357. He featured in the qualifying draw for the 1987 Wimbledon Championships. His best performance on the Grand Prix tennis circuit was a doubles semi-final appearance at the 1982 Bavarian Tennis Championships and he made two doubles finals on the second tier ATP Challenger Series. He had a best doubles ranking of 190 in the world. Fischer has been a tennis coach since 1992 and served as an assistant coach for the Germany Davis Cup team from 2007 to 2011, under Patrik Kühnen. During the 1990s he coached both Hendrik Dreekmann and Alex Rădulescu to grand slam quarter-finals. More recently he was coach of Benjamin Becker, Tommy Haas and Florian Mayer. Hans-Peter Kandler (born 2 April 1956) is a former professional tennis player from Austria. Biography Kandler was born in Mödling, a town near Vienna. He competed professionally on the Grand Prix tour in the 1980s and represented Austria in two Davis Cup ties in 1982. Both of his Davis Cup appearances came in 1982, the first a Europe Zone quarter-final tie at home against Algeria, in which Kandler won two singles matches to help Austria secure a 5–0 whitewash. He played again in the semi-final against Switzerland at Werzer Stadium in Portschach. Once more he was used in two singles rubbers and on this occasion lost both, to Roland Stadler and then Heinz Günthardt.
