Arthur Christie (14 March 1921-2003) was a British coal miner and intelligence agent. He was seconded into Special Operations Executive on 22 April 1940 at Aston House, Stevenage, where he was to become one of the founding members of SOE. He was originally trained as an explosives expert, laying charges at the coalface as a miner. It was this expertise that became the reason he was seconded from the regular army into MI6 (R) based at Aston House; this was the place christened "Churchill’s Toy Box." Amalie Christie
Amalie Christie (21 December 1913 – 4 March 2010) was a Norwegian classical pianist, author and anthroposophist. Personal life She was born in Vang, Hedmark as a daughter of professor Werner Hosewinckel Christie (1877–1927) and Baroness Karen Amalie Wedel-Jarlsberg (1886–1952). Alexander Christie (1901-1946) was a Scottish artist who specialised in portraiture, working mainly in oil or charcoal, occasionally in pastel. He was a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy and the Royal Scottish Academy. Early life Christie was born at Aberdeen in 1901 and educated at Robert Gordon's College. Having studied and commenced practice in dentistry, he abandoned that profession in order to train as an artist. He obtained admission to Gray's School of Art and in 1925 was awarded the Robert Brough Memorial Scholarship and enrolled at the Royal Academy Schools. In the following year he was elected a full professional member of the Aberdeen Art Union and used the funds from a travelling scholarship (awarded by Robert Gordon's College) to spend a year in Spain. Alexander Christie (May 28, 1848 – April 6, 1925) was an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as Bishop of Vancouver Island (1898–1899) and Archbishop of Oregon City (1899–1925). He founded the University of Portland in 1901. Biography Christie was born in Highgate, Vermont and later moved with his family to Wisconsin and, after the end of the Civil War, to Austin, Minnesota. He studied at the Grand Seminary of Montreal from 1874 to 1877, and was ordained a priest on December 2, 1877. Alexander Christie (1792 – December 9, 1872) was a Scottish people, Scottish fur trader and Factor (agent), chief factor of the Red River Colony from 1833 to 1839 and from 1844 to 1848.
